Chevrolet Tahoe Power-Fold Mirror Repair

2007-2014 Tahoe (GMT900 generation) — the retraction feature stopped working, and the mirror won't fold in or out.

The Tahoe from this generation shares its power-fold mirror assembly with the Suburban, Yukon, Yukon Denali, and Escalade of the same years — all built on GM's GMT900 full-size platform. If your Tahoe's mirror makes a faint electric buzzing sound when you press the fold button but doesn't actually move, or has gone completely silent, the cause is almost always the same one part: a small plastic spur gear inside the motor housing that has cracked or stripped its teeth.

Model years: 2007-2014 Trims: LS, LT, LTZ, Hybrid Platform: GMT900
